Tezz Review

TEZZ is a Hindi feature film which released on 27th April, 2012. This film was a much awaited film of Priyadarshan due to its hi-fi action scenes. It was highly promoted also hence people were waiting to see what kind of action film Priyadarshan has made! Does he get success in directing an action packed thriller? Read ahead the review of TEZZ.

Story : Aakash (Ajay Devgan) runs a firm in London with his wife Nikita (Kangana Ranaut) because he is an engineer. But he is deported to India because of violation of the laws of immigration. Thus the dreams of an ideal life of Aakash get crushed.

Four years later, Aakash returns to take revenge in his mind with London government. He wants to take back what was taken away from him. He makes a team with his old friends Megha (Sameera Reddy) and Adil Khan (Zayed Khan) to accomplish his objective. They plant a bomb in a train and inform this to Boman Irani who is the security chief. He demands a big ransom from the government. In this way, Aakash blackmails Boman Irani.

Thereafter, to tackle the situation, they seek the help of Anil Kapoor to catch the criminals. Anil Kapoor is an ex-cop who is very intelligent and knows very well how to deal such criminals and such situations.

In the whole film, Aakash is after Boman Irani to asking to full fill his demand; Boman Irani is after the government to make them ready for the ransom and Anil Kapoor is after the criminals.

Does Anil Kapoor foil Ajay's plan? Does he catch Ajay? Does the government pay Ajay the ransom he demanded? What is the ultimate result? These are some questions answered in the rest of the film.

Acting : Ajay Devgan fits into the role and does his part very well. Anil Kapoor has got a role according to his age and justifies his character. Sameera Reddy has done excellent job. Zayed Khan is okay. It seems that he lacks confidence because he has got a film after a long time. Mallika Sherawat sizzles in the item song. Mohanla is also good but has got very less footage.

Script : The plot is weak but the screenplay is tight and of fast pace, forget whether it is logical or illogical. Dialogues are average.

Music : Sajid and Wajid have tried to do well in some songs such as Tere Bina and title song by Sunidhi Chauhan. Both of them are very good. However, remaining songs are not so appealing.

Direction : Priydarshan has proved that he can also shoot action thrillers apart from making social and comedy films. He has tried to justify the title of the film by presenting everything on the screen-TEZZ! However, he missed to choose a better script which may go against it.

Plus Points : Action & Chase sequences by Peter Pedrero who also wrote and directed the action sequence on the request of Priydarshan. Action sequences are excellent and worth watching.

Minus Points : Weak Story and unconvincing elements.

Conclusion : After a long time Priyadarshan has roped in Anil Kapoor in his film. The film starts well known stars of action films such as Ajay Devgan and Anil Kapoor and they have justified their parts but there are some loopholes in the story which many intellectual audiences may not digest and which may go against the film. This film has been made of a budget INR 40 Crore, so it may achieve break even point in terms of box office revenue but may not do very well and may not cross 100 crore.

Verdict : Not an excellent film, yet not a film below average. If you love action thrillers, you should watch it, especially for the action sequence shot by Peter which are worth watching!
