The story is a flashback narrative by Alec D'Souza (Irrfan Khan), one of the top black marketers in the city, about the politics and enmity in the 60's Bollywood filmdom.
Zara (Sonali Raut) is the sex symbol of the industry, also known for her characterless conduct, hates and despises Chandni (Zoya Afroz) who is a new entrant appreciated for her performance. On the other hand, Subba Prasad (Anant Mahadevan) who is a South film director, makes an entry in the Bombay film industry and locks horns of rivalry with Bobby Chaddha who is a well known filmmaker in the industry.
Now, Ravi Kumar (Himesh Reshammiya), who is permanently suspended from his job for being too short tempered, is given entry in the industry by Subba Prasad. The scene also involves K.D (Yo Yo Honey Singh) a popular music composer, who is the ex-boyfriend of Zara and is now married to a popular and rich actress in the industry.
Amidst of this game of political rivalry, one of the actresses is murdered during a party hosted by Subba Prasad for his film.
