After a long time Tabu is back on the screen with Toh Baat Pakki. But unlike her previous serious films, she is in comical role in the film. Well, before talking about Tabu or the story lets talk about its makers. Ramesh S Taurani has produced the film and Kedar Shinde has directed it. Other techinicians and casts involved in this film are Shraman Joshi, Ayub Khan, Vatsal Seth, Uvika Chaudhray, Sharat Saxena, Himani Shivpuri, Suhasney Mulay and Upasana Singh. Music is given by Pritam Chakraborty and Rahul Jadav & Rajan are its cinematographers.
The film is in comical style to find a suitable boy for a girl. Rajshree (Tabu) has her younger sister Nisha (Uvika Chaudhary) regarding whom she is too much concerned and too much protective. She is trying to find a suitable groom for her. She has formed a boundary line what kind of groom he should be. She strictly wants him to be a Sexana that is none other than the caste she wants. In earlier days, old people used to form such boundary line but to see a woman like Tabu asking for it seems different. Well, she also wants her sister's groom to be well settled that is he should be doing a good job. Also her condition is that the groom or his family should not be greedy and should not demand dowry. She wants the groom to be a caring husband.
It becomes a difficult task to find such groom. However, Rajeshwari finds Rahul (Shrman Joshi) suitable for her sister. Rahul is an Engineering student and after a few meetings love develops between him and Nisha. Everything seems to be going well until the entry of Yuvraj (Vatsal Seth).
Yuvraj is richer than Rahul and works as a junior manager in a reputed company Goderej. He also owns a car of his own. Above all, he too is a Saxena.
Well, beyond everyone's expectation, Rajshree changes her mind. She finds Yuvraj better than Rahul in all aspects and decides to marry her sister with Yuvraj and thus she replaces Rahul with Yuvraj as the groom of her sister which you would not like in the film.
Thereafter, what happens will remind you Shah Rukh Khan starrer film Dilwale Dulhaniyaan Le Jayenge's end. During wedding ceremony preparations, Rahul plays tricks to break off the wedding between Yuvraj and Nisha. These scenes are not new so you may not find it refreshing.
What happens later is the rest of the film. Whether Rahul marries Nisha or Yuvraj, to know that you will need to watch the film.
The director tried to make a comedy but didn't succeed completely. Though he succeeded in creating fun at many places, he failed at other places. The script is responsible for it. The script is of middle level with many loopholes and flaccid screenplay.
Cinematography is good but music is average.
Tabu has performed in an excellent manner. She has proved that she can do any type of roles whether serious role like Virasat or comical role of Toh Baat Pakki.
Shraman Joshi is perfect in his role. Day by day he is gaining perfection.
Vatsal Seth too has justified his role. Ayub khan & Uvika don't have lot to do.
If you watch this film, there is no problem because after all it is going to keep you engaged for sometime. Credit for the film's success should be given to Tabbu because of her excellent performance.
