A rich woman named Anna Smith aged 40 years is a famous Piano-player. Husband Sally is a violin-player. Sally is a greedy about Anna's wealth. Also Anna loves Sally very deeply. Sally cheats and defrauds Anna; as a result she drives him out of her home. He goes away.. As the time passes, Anna still cannot forget Sally- she is haunted by a tune designed by sally-she pictures a good memory of sally whenever the tune plays in the mind thro' memory. Also along with tune comes the uneasy memory of the times and pain he inflicted on her during their stay together. Such diverse and conflicting emotions take a toll on her sanity and mental peace. Her solitude and memory get so mixed up with reality that she gets frequent attacks of hysteria and depression. A psychiatrist Dr. Jimmy is treating Anna and finds that he should detach her from her past and bring her to the present. As an experiment he wants her 'present' to be more friendly and warm company of young man as a paying guest who is in the final year of medicine. This youth named Deven is also a fine player of violin, quite good-looking and youthful. Anna gets quite friendly and attached to Deven. The new, youthful and musical association brings her to think and feel for her present and starts forgetting her past as well as sally-his tune, his painful memories etc. Now, sally comes back but he changed so much that she does not find him worth accepting back or renew their association. Hence Anna drives him out of her house again. But while going out; angry and frustrated; he talks about unhealthy and unnatural relation of Anna with her paying guest Deven. Anna has fallen in love with Deven Dr. Jimmy becomes aware of these changes. He calls back Deven to his home. Deven tells Dr. Jimmy that he is quite comfortable at Anna's place. Deven finds'/ think her like his mother-loving, caring and supporting. He says that she is very loving and a patient who need attention and care. Dr. Jimmy visits Anna and informs him that Deven loves a girl named Kiran and is shortly planning to marry her. Suddenly Anna losses her balance, shouts and get out of control-in that moment. She ask dr. jimmy to leave her house and leave her alone. She goes near her piano and looks at her violin but remembers Deven, his way of playing violin. Suddenly she remembers Dr. Jimmy's word about Deven and Kiran. She goes near the photograph of Deven. She throws the photo down cracking glass. Deven comes home and finds Anna quite ill and sad and then she suddenly clings to him as if a support.. She cannot give up... She gets possessive again and demands that Deven should never leave her. Again one day sally comes back and ask for lot money from her. Anna flatly refuse then he ask her jewelry. She kicks him out saying; she won't deal with him in any way now. One day suddenly Kiran calls up Deven but he puts it down saying "wrong number". But from his facial expression Anna feels it must be his friend. She asks then about Kiran and he tells her that he loves her and is quite attached to her. Anna desires to meet Kiran and asks him to bring her home to meet her. Deven does not commit but ask dr. jimmy. He knows that Anna is not perfectly normal when it comes to the sensitive issue of a man-woman relationship and already quite traumatized by these emotions. Dr. Jimmy does not agree with the idea of Kiran meeting Anna. Sally is bent upon getting some cash and wants to steal the jewelry box. He enters Anna's house surreptitiously but Deven catches him and snatches the jewelry box from him. Sally tries to hit Deven and attacks his physically. Looking at the confrontation Anna loses her balance and at time imagines that Deven is her son also by turn suddenly sees herself as his wife. The fight gets further on sally comes and threatens to kill Deven, Anna gets mad and crazy-while sally tires to kill Deven, and he has a fall and die... by accident.
