One Line Review : It is a masterpiece by the great Kamal Hassan, a must watch movie but not recommended for people with the weak hearts.
Positive Points : The awesome direction, the perfect script, the locations at which the film was shot, the fantastic performances of the characters and last but not the least the thrilling action sequences of the movie.
Negative Points : None
Plot : First and foremost, this movie only does show the reality. It does not hurt the sentiments of any community. It only highlights the problems, the current situation of the certain parts of the world which is hard to believe for the people like us who live in very safe and sound environment.
Now, the plot of the film. The film shows the current situation in US. In a marriage of convenience Nirupama (Pooja Kumar) is married to Vishwanath ak.a. Wiz(Kamal Hassan) who is a dancer and tutor by profession.Wiz is a green card holder citizen of US. Nirupama marries Vishwanath only for the sake of getting a green card and US citizenship. She is a doctorate and works for a nuclear company. Eventually she falls for her boss and now wants to get rid of her old and not so attractive husband Vishwanath. But she is unable to find a suitable reason for separation so she hires a detective in order to find something against Vishwanath. She strongly believes that every man has some flaws in him ,we just have to find it. But things get complicated when the detective finds out some shocking secrets about Wiz. Wiz is actually a good guy fighting against some 'rotten eggs' of his community. He works sort of an agent for saving the day.
The film strongly highlights the issue of terrorism. It is a fact that terrorism is no longer a community based or an area based issue. It has links all over the world and only innocent people of all the communities are suffering due to its harsh effects. No community is bad. Only some people whose mindsets are weird and cruel, make to suffer the innocent people from all over the world.
Truly speaking, the film has a genre of Hollywood. But Kamal Hassan has carried out the responsibility so well that you cannot find any flaw in the script, direction and performances. It is a nail biting thriller tale of an agent who fights with the group of terrorists to save the day. The film has the gripping action sequences which will get you goose bumps. People who love action films will love to watch this movie again and again.
Direction and Other Technical Aspects : Vishwaroop is a one man show i.e. Kamal Hassan's show. The direction is awesome and so is the thrilling cinematography and screenplay. While watching the movie you actually think that you are a part of the story. Kamal Hassan really knows how to use the resources well. He has become successful in getting a perfect output from all of his team of Vishwaroop. It really shows the current roop (scenario) of the Vishwa (the world).
Action : What to say more about the action? It is the best Indian film ever in the sense of perfect action sequences. Lee Whittaker has really done a fabulous job. In the middle of the film while watching the action sequence of a bomb blast or any helicopter scene, you actually get the goosebumps. It will really scare some weak hearted people and children. Parents watch out your kiddos while watching this movie. It's just not recommended for them.
Performances : All the actors gave their best in this movie. First and foremost, Kamal Hassan and Rahul Bose did a fantastic job. They really has lived their characters. Secondly, Shekhar Kapur also has marked his active presence. Others also did a good job including the newbie Pooja Kumar. She really fits in the character of gluttonous Nirupama.
Music : You should not look for the songs and music for such action packed thrillers. Background music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy is supportive to the action sequences.
Final Verdict : if you love action thrillers, don't wait for a company. Go and watch Vishwaroop now. A must watch nail biting movie which shows the current global scenario but definitely not recommended for the weak hearted.
