With the World Cup ruling the minds of the Indians at this moment, an attempted thriller by director Yogesh Mittal fails to pull the audience to the cinema halls. Though on paper this thriller may have looked acceptable and convincing, the outcome has not been so. Devi Lal Dua (Anupam Kher) is a widowed builder with a young daughter Anurima (Tena Desae) who has brought her up single handedly after his wife's tragic death 18 years ago. Anurima comes back after her studies to live with her beloved father.
However the twist in the tale comes when Arunima comes across her mother's will written when her mother was just 28 years old. She notices her father uncomfortable about the will. Soon Anurima chances upon a few secrets from the past regarding her mother and is upset realizing what was told to her by her father was completely different. This increases her curiosity for investigating the truth. She learns through an apprentice lawyer (Rashad Rana) also shown as her love interest and another Prince Diggy Singh (Pavan Malhotra) that her parents went through a tough love affair during their youth since, her father was a mere jaat commoner and her mother a royal princess.
On the way she also stumbles upon various hidden shades of her father never seen before which tears her between the truth and her love for him. Further going through her mother's possessions, she realizes her mother's death was a murder and not an accident. Devi Lal Dua's reluctance to answer questions regarding his wife's death when confronted by Anurima creates more suspicion in her mind turning her love for her father into doubt.
The doubt increases further when she comes across the fact that her father tried to hide her mother's passion for music and her closeness with fellow musician Diggy Singh. The story progresses on as to how after coming across all these incidents Anurima sets to find out whether her father is the ultimate murderer of her mother.
Yeh Faasley suffers tardy editing, poor camera work, ordinary direction and average music. Under promotion also adds to the lack of crowd in the theatres.
Although, Anupam Kher and Pavan Malhotra have given good performances doing justice to their roles, while Rashad Rana and debutant Tena Desae have tried hard to convince the audience, which makes this film worth a watch.
