Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor to star in 'Mere Apne'?
The director Umesh Shukla is likely to cast Kareena Kapoor as female lead in his next film 'Mere Apne'. Abhishek Bachchan will be in male lead role.

Though earlier it was learnt that Abhishek Bachchan is going to star in 'Mere Apne', the upcoming movie of Umesh Shukla , the name of his female co-star in this family-drama was not yet finalized. As per the latest reports, the Bollywood beauty Kareena Kapoor might play the female lead in this flick.
Earlier, it was Asin, who was being considered to essay the female lead. The close sources revealed that recently the director Umesh Shukla approached Kareena. The actress showed enthusiasm about the project.
If the things go well, Bachchan junior will be seen paired up with Bebo after a long hiatus. The interesting fact about both these actors is that though they debuted together in the film ' Refugee ', after this film, the duo featured together only in ' Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon ' by Sooraj Barjatya in the year 2003. At that time, a rumor spread with lightning speed that Abhishek Bachchan called off his engagement with Karisma Kapoor and it was said that this incidence strained the relations between Bachchan and Kapoor families.
'Mere Apne' also features Rishi Kapoor , who will be portraying the role of father of Abhishek Bachchan . The shooting of the film is likely to take place in picturesque locations, such as London, Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim.
