Vidya Balan , who bagged a Filmfare award for her last film, Tumhari Sulu , has taken a break from films for few months. Though she has signed a biopic on former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, the movie is yet to go on floors. Known as the hero of her movies, it is reported that Vidya might be seen in yet another female-centric film. The movie will be directed by Jyoti Kapur Das and it will be a gangster film where the lead will be seen in a grey role. In the past, Jyoti has made an award-winning short film, Chutney.
Talking about the project, a source stated to the tabloid, "Set in the murky world of crime, the drama sees the leading lady as a grey character. The role is that of a strong-minded woman who is almost a crime overlord. After Jyoti finished penning the script, Vidya was the first name that came to her mind. Given the kind of author-backed roles that she has done, the actress would be a perfect fit for the character."
The source further said, "The actress also has the Indira Gandhi biopic in the pipeline. It all depends on when she starts the biopic. She is also in talks for another project. But if all goes as planned, the crime drama will go on floors later this year."
Though there is no confirmation about the news, director Jyoti said to a tabloid, "It would be an absolute dream to work with her, nothing like that is happening just yet."
