50 years ago, on October 4, 1964, Javed Akhtar stepped first on the land of dreams- Mumbai. He left his home-town Gwalior to try his luck in the film industry. No doubt, he had the potential yet he had to experience the struggle to make his stand in the running city. In 1969, film ' Yakeen ' he debuted as a lyricist and then there was no looking back. His earnest partnership with Salim Khan fetched Bollywood the biggest hits of all time with the films 'Zanjeer', ' Deewaar ' and ' Sholay ' to name a few.
Akhtar family met for a lunch to celebrate Javed Akhtar 's golden jubilee in the tinsel town. After spending the quality time, Farhan Akhtar tweeted "Lunch with the family today to mark 50 years since @Javedakhtarjadu first stepped off a train at Bombay Central station with a big dream."
While, Javed Akhtar 's second wife Shabana Azmi took Twitter to address her husband's struggle by writing "50 years ago Javed Akhtar came 2 Bombay 2 pursue career in films- slept on d streets no food 4days only talent n determination. RESPECT."
