Start counting the days to see the ever-energetic Ranveer Singh in a RAPPER avatar, because his film ‘ Gully Boy ’ has finally gone on the floors. The shooting of Zoya Akhtar ’s directorial movie finally started yesterday and the lead, Alia Bhatt , feels most excited about the film. Alia shared the big news on Twitter, captioning, “And finally its Day 1 of #GullyBoy !!! Such a special film for me for various reasons!!!! Wish me luckkkk!!!! Your support and love means the world to me Wohooo let’s do this! @RanveerOfficial #zoyaakhtar.” Now, ‘ Gully Boy ’ finally went on floors today as revealed by Zoya on Instagram. The filmmaker took to her Instagram page to share a photo of Gully Boy's clapper to commemorate Day 1 of the shoot.

For the uninitiated, ‘ Gully Boy ’ is a story based on the lives of underground rappers of Mumbai city. Ranveer will bring life and struggle of rappers, Divine and Naezy on the big screen. Recently, talking about ‘ Gully Boy ’ and working with Zoya again after ‘ Dil Dhadakne Do ’, Ranveer said to a leading daily, "In January itself, I start Gully Boy for which I collaborate with Zoya, who is very dear and special in my life as a collaborator, person as well as a director."

The actor was also all praises for his co-star Alia and added, "Also, it’s my first collaboration on a full-length feature film with Alia (Bhatt), who I rate very high as an actor. She is certainly among the best actors in today’s day-and-age. I believe she is on her way towards greatness."

The film has finally started, but the release date of the same is yet not decided.
