Amitabh Bachchan Does Not Accept a Role in 'Zanjeer' Remake

Remake of ' Zanjeer ' is being made by Amit Mehra starring the South star Ram Charan Teja . The original ' Zanjeer ' produced by Prakash Mehra , father of Amit Mehra was a blockbuster. Amitabh Bachchan had played the protagonist in the original ' Zanjeer ', which released in 1973 and gave Amitabh Bachchan the tag of the 'Angry Young Man'.

He has no objections regarding the remake of ' Zanjeer ' and has given his blessings to the team. But when he was offered to be a part of the remake, he turned down the offer. He was was quoted saying, "Prakashji's son Amit is remaking it with Ram Charan and I wish them all the best. I have not heard what they are doing with the script, but both Apoorva and Amit wanted me to play a part in it. I had to turn down the offer with regret."

However, he has expressed his confidence in Ram Charan Teja by saying "He is the son of a dear friend and a legend, Chiranjeevi . I'm certain he will do a fine job."

The chief cast of the remake of ' Zanjeer ' includes Ram Charan Teja (in the lead role), Arjun Rampal , Priyanka Chopra , Prakash Raj and Mahi Gill . And the film is being directed by Apoorva Lakhia .
