Amitabh Bachchan honoured with Maestro Award

The super star Amitabh Bachchan was honoured along with Shivkumar Sharma and Hariprasad Chaurasia with the Whistling Woods International Maestro Awards.

The three eminent personas, the super star Amitabh Bachchan , the renowned Santoor exponent Shivkumar Sharma and classical flautist Hariprasad Chaurasia were honoured with the WWI (Whistling Woods International) Maestro Awards.

The film and media institute of Subhash Ghai - Whistling Woods International presented this award to this trio. The 70-years old megastar Amitabh Bachchan was much delighted about the award and expressed his happiness mentioning that he felt glad to meet young aspirants, who are the 'future of this glorious industry'. The super star also said that he was honoured to share the stage with the stalwarts.

On his personal blog, Amitabh stated that the true owners of this priceless Maestro Award are the most distinguished and celebrated classical music Pandits - Hariprasad Chaurasia and the 'guru' of Santoor, Shivkumar Sharma .

The ceremony was held for the felicitation of over 200 brilliant film and media graduates. It was the sixth annual convocation of the institute, reportedly.

Amitabh Bachchan was pleased to see more and more youngsters taking interest in the field of movies. The actor also expressed his gratitude towards Subhash Ghai for building a platform in the form of this institute for all the aspirants. Big B wished luck to all the students and conveyed his confidence about the strength of these students to take the film industry to greater heights.
