Film maker R. Balki shares a fond association with megastar Amitabh Bachchan and, the two have made several films together. Their last film Shamitabh, however, flopped at the box-office front. But, still Big B encouraged him to start working on his next project and not waste time over the past.

Amitabh Bachchan & Jaya Bachchan forced R. Balki to work on Ki & Ka!

In an exclusive media interaction, Balki stated that, "I did ponder for a while over Shamitabh. However Amitji along with Jayaji forced me to go ahead and kick-start my next. They told me that there was no point sitting and analyzing about what happened with Shamitabh. My producer Anil Naidu joined them as well. Together, they made sure that I begin to write pronto."

While working, the film maker got the idea of a couple with a role reversal theme and he decided to shape it up.

Balki added, "When people complimented me for my work (in Paa - 2009), it took me six years to return with my next (Shamitabh - 2015). Now if I started thinking too much about criticism, it would have taken me 10 years. So I just went ahead and put together Ki & Ka. I met Kareena and Arjun and soon we were ready to hit the sets."

R. Balki made sure that his upcoming film also features his all time favourite actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan .

When asked about the same, the filmmaker said, "I said to Amitji that since he and Jayaji had forced me to write the film, they now had to be a part of Ki & Ka. They feature in a very special appearance. You would see that eventually, they are in the center of the narrative."

Ki & Ka starring Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor is all set to hit the silver screens on April 1, 2016.
