Amitabh Bachchan presented the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award to the veteran actress and his first leading lady Tanuja at the 59th Filmfare Awards in Mumbai.

The 59th Idea Filmfare Awards proved spectacular in every aspect, as the fresh creative talent bagged laurels. We earlier reported that Tanuja received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the event. Here's a brief news update regarding the same.

The megastar Amitabh Bachchan presented the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award to the veteran actress and Big B's first leading lady Tanuja , reportedly. On the Facebook page, Mr. Bachchan penned down that "Giving the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award to Tanuja : She came into the firmament like a breath of fresh air .. a very warm welcome breeze on a cold wintry morning ..Vibrant! Pulsating with energy .. Carefree. Unconventional and completely uninhibited,"

Big B further wrote "She was my first leading lady in a film made in the 70's ' Pyar Ki Kahani ', a remake of a Tamil film 'Kaikudtha Deivam', which had three of the iconic legends of Tamil cinema - Shivaji Ganesan, Gemini Ganesan and Savitri. I shall ever remain grateful to Tanuja for having agreed to work with me then - me a struggling newcomer; she this glorious star .. My very great privilege and honour to present the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award to the great star Tanuja ,", he concluded.
