Amitabh Bachchan topped UK's poll as Greatest Bollywood Star

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan emerged as the greatest Bollywood star in a UK poll celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema.

Everyone knows that Amitabh Bachchan is undeniably counted as the megastar of Bollywood. And now its official! The fresh reports say that the veteran star Amitabh Bachchan has emerged as the greatest Bollywood star in a UK poll celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema.

Big B won a major share of votes from his fans, critics and Bollywood fraternity in this survey published by a British Asian weekly newspaper about '100 Greatest Bollywood Stars'. In the career period of around 40 years, the 70-years old actor delivered several super hits, such as ' Sholay ', ' Deewaar ', ' Abhimaan ', ' Kabhi Kabhi ', ' Amar Akbar Anthony ' and to list a few. The unparalleled performance of the star in these films took him to great heights. The television show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' hosted by this legendary star acted as a bridge between Bollywood and small screen for the actor.

Amitabh Bachchan is the very first celeb to be honored with a wax statue at Madame Tussauds. At the London 2012 Olympic Games, Amitabh represented India as the Olympic torch-bearer. The combination of audience votes from social media, cinematic impact and box-office figures, are the mediums from where the results of the survey was taken from.

Dilip Kumar , another ace actor of yesteryear's, received second place in the survey results, while 'badshah' Shah Rukh Khan attained the third place. The queen of hearts, Madhuri Dixit was on the top-most list of Bollywood actresses and she ranked fourth in the overall lists.

The other eminent Bollywood celebs, who were in the top 10 list, are Raj Kapoor (5), Nargis (6), Dev Anand (7), Waheeda Rehman (8), Rajesh Khanna (9), Sridevi (10).
