Another feather in the cap of Anupam Kher

Legendary actor Anupam Kher 's one-man autobiographical play, 'Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai', completed a landmark 300 shows which was staged at NCPA, Mumbai on 19th May 2013. This is a record in itself which no other actor has achieved so far. In this play a few selected incidents from Anupam's life have been strung together as a journey of a man, who shares his pain, joy, tears and laughter with honesty and rare candour. In 2005, Kher was going through a rough patch when he thought of doing the play. Around the same time, he used to read a lot of autobiographies and what really interested him were people's failures as compared to their successes.

On this occasion, Anupam's Mother, brother Raju Kher , Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Shobha De, Sushma Reddy and many others were present to witness Anupam Kher 's special moment. The stage play is directed by Feroz Abbas Khan . Expressing his feelings, Kher said that it is a very humble feeling for him. He sometimes feels delirious to be able to entertain people through theatre, that too a play based on his life. "I wanted to earn money and that is why I started this play. It has given me so much. Even my 26 years and 479 films in the film industry don't look as impressive," he recalls.

The talented actor further added that the play has changed his life. It doesn't deal with his triumphs, it deals with his failures. Kher stated that, "When you talk about your failures to the public, you have nothing to fear about. I wrote to the Guinness Book team about the achievement and they replied saying they have no way to validate this from all across the globe". The first show remains etched in the actor's memory. "Everyone who featured in the play was there. The sad part is today, some of these people are no more. I miss my father and Yash ji," says Kher.

The resounding success of 'Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai' has been rather unexpected as plays generally have a shorter run.
