Model-turned actor Arjun Rampal will seek inspiration from gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawali for his upcoming film 'Daddy'.

The film is said to be based on the life of dreaded don of Mumbai's Dagdi Chawl, Arun Gawali. With some of the look-alike features producer Mandar Dalvi has brought Arjun on board to foray his character. Still, the actor needs to shed few kgs to adorn the look. Also, he wishes to meet the gangster soon to understand his personality in real.

The title of the film is inspired from the real life of the gangster, as Arun Gawali's gang member used to often refer him as "Daddy".

'Daddy' will go on the floor in October, after Arjun finishes off with film ' Roy '. But he has already begun to sink in the Maharashtrian flavor which could be perceived by the following tweet: "Just heading to Lal Baug for the blessings of Lord Ganesha for our film Daddy, a film based on the life of Arun Gawli."
