As Shiddat was to star Sridevi, Karan Johar decided to shelve the project after her demise?
Actors like Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt were also in talks to be a part of Karan Johar’s Shiddat.

The late Sridevi was a true legend, who never actually needed a male co-star to turn any film into a successful venture. Starred in more than 250 films, the actress was going to be a part of Karan Joha r’s upcoming film, Shiddat . The film was Karan’s one of the dream projects, but after the sudden demise of the great actress, it is reported that he has shelved the project. A source close to the development said to a leading daily, “Shiddat was going to star Sridevi with Sanjay Dutt , Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt . It was to be directed by Abhishek Varman who directed 2 States for Karan Johar ’s Dharma Productions. It was going to be Sridevi’s first film with Dharma Production since Gumrah which also starred Sanjay Dutt.”
With Sridevi no more, Karan Johar has told close friends he no longer wishes to produce Shiddat .
Karan Johar says he is shattered by the tragedy of Sridevi ’s sudden demise. He hasn’t slept a wink since it happened. A source close to Karan says, “He has taken charge of both of Sridevi’s daughters, Janhvi whom he is launching this July, and her younger sister Khushi. Karan is very attached to the two girls and now more so than ever.”
Though the film never gone on floors, we guess it will never be.
