It was reported earlier that Bollywood diva Kangana Ranaut will feature in a biopic on the life of veteran actress Meena Kumari which is helmed by Tigmanshu Dhulia . The latest update regarding the film is that the biopic is kept on hold by the makers due to lack of adequate information and permissions.
According to a leading daily, the makers have the rights to the biography of the veteran star but it does not have sufficient information to make a film. In an exclusive media interaction, the director stated that if the movie is only based on the book it will not have enough information and will not be fun. The makers have to do a lot of research on the subject. Kumari's family also has objections on this film being made. Reports are also such that the veteran star's step son is also making a movie on her life. Hence, the biopic is kept on hold, till the makers sort out all the issues coming its way.
