Bollywood had always glorified the images of underworld dons in the movies in the last decades. The lead characters in several gangster flicks have their roots dipped in the life-stories of real underworld dons directly or indirectly. Prior to this, Bollywood had seen Maya Dolas, Dawood Ibrahim and Manya Surve life stories in the form of movies based on them.
Recently, the news update came up about the death of notorious Abu Salem in Taloja Jail in Navi Mumbai. By sheer coincidence, one of the character from the upcoming film ' Calapor ' by Dinesh P. Bhonsle resembles similar happenings in a jail. The movie displays prison's modern day settings and revolves around complex details of conspiracies in the jail. Priyanshu Chatterjee would be first time rendering the character of a gangster. The protagonist intends to kill a sharp shooter in the jail.
The director Dinesh P. Bhonsle revealed that it is a sheer coincidence that Abu Salem was killed and the film ' Calapor ' aims at offering to the viewers a clear picture of incidents taking place in jail. Through the medium of dance and drama, the storyline of the movie showcases the happenings in jail.
' Calapor ', the thriller will hit the screens on August 2, 2013.
