Bollywood industry isn’t new to the intellectual clashes with Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) aka Censor Board, but this time it is safe to say, they hit little below the belt! Bollywood’s one of the critically acclaimed director, Madhur Bhandarkar , is all set to release his upcoming political drama film, Indu Sarkar , based on the era of national emergency 1975, releasing on 28th July, with promotion for the film was also in full force. And now, CBFC decided to chop out 12 scene cuts and lots of words to be beeped out before the film hits the theatre!
Although makers and even avid fans did expect such intervention of CBFC as the film itself is dealing with sensitive topics, which makes it bound to get under scrutiny. But censor board forgot to keep one thing in mind, as per the above list suggests some dialogues and some words have to be in the movie to make sense and complete the story. But then, this is not new for the CBFC. In the case of Madhur Bhandarkar, fans are reacting fiercely, and some even condemning CBFC as they suppressed Madhur’s freedom of expression!
Although it is interesting to see how Madhur Bhandarkar will deal with it, might consider heading to revision committee. Indu Sarkar includes star cast of Kirti Kulhari , Neil Nitin Mukesh , Anupam Kher , Tota Roy Chowdhury , Parvin Dabas, Sheeba Chaddha and Zakir Hussain. The film is scheduled to release on 28th July, and if there are any changes in release date, BollywoodMDB will keep you posted!
