Raveena Tandon ’s upcoming film Maatr went through trouble with CBFC as they previously denied passing the film due to its content. But, the latest update claims that the film has been cleared with an A certificate after a few cuts.
The producers of the film resubmitted the film as a fresh product with a few changes after the censor board refused them certification. This was a smart move that speed tracked the process as they did not go to the revising committee. Now, after three visual cuts and one general (audio) cut, the film has been given an A certificate so it can release on time this Friday!
In a statement Nihalani stated: “From the time I took over as the chairperson of the CBFC it has been my endeavor to ensure that no producers incur any losses because of the CBFC. We understand Maatr is a small meaningful film and any delay would be financially burdensome for the producers. My entire Examining Committee co-operated to ensure a swift certification for the film.”
