Confirmed: Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha to release in China in May!

After Dangal , Secret Superstar , Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Hindi Medium , the Chinese masses seem to have fallen in love with Indian films. Well, move on from Khans because now, it’s Akshay Kumar ’s time to shine in China. You read it right! After Aamir, Salman and Irrfan, now Khiladi Kumar will strike the Chinese markets with his last year’s successful movie, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha . Made on a social issue, the movie was recently screened at the Chinese International Film Festival and received rave reviews from the viewers. Director Shree Narayan Singh and its producer, Sheetal Bhatia, were present at the screening. It’s been now confirmed that the movie will be released there in the month of May.

Noted trade analyst, Ramesh Bala, also confirmed the news by tweeting, “@akshaykumar - @psbhumi 's #ToiletEKPremKatha will release in #China in May.. The months of April and May already have some of the biggest movies from the world cinema, so it will be awaited to see how many screens Akshay’s film gets in the neighbouring country.

Starring Akshay and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead, the movie dealt with the issue of lack of toilets and open defecation in India. The film was critically and commercially a successful venture and we hope it breaks some barriers in China as well.
