For the last few months, Vishal Bhardwaj ’s upcoming gangster film about the Mumbai Mafia of 80’s and 90’s is in the news. The film will reunite Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan after 3 years. Reportedly, it was scheduled to go on floors from the first week of March. But it’s not happening anytime soon. Director Bhardwaj confirmed the news and said his film has been pushed back by few months as both the actors are facing some difficulties.

Bhardwaj too to Twitter and wrote, “Pushing back film by a few months, @irrfank down with jaundice and @deepikapadukone with resurfaced back issue caused during Padmaavat. While prepping, was transported to Maqbool days. Stunning look tests, can’t wait to start the shoot. Sending pyaar & duaaen to my Ustara and Afshan.”

The director left us thinking what do his last two words (Ustara and Afshan) mean. Are these words the name of the characters or anything else? Well, it will be cleared in few months.

He continued his tweet and added KriArj Entertainment and Prernaa Arora ’s name. Well, we don’t have to think much on this. Bhardwaj doesn’t tweet casually, so we are assuming that the upcoming film will be made under Prernaa Arora ’s banner.

Irrfan Khan ’s spokesperson informed a leading daily that the actor is indeed unwell and has cancelled all his shoots for now. He was Chandigarh bound but will now be staying back in Mumbai for treatment.

Though the film is reported to be a gangster drama, Bhardwaj has earlier made it clear that it is not a biopic of Mumbai’s lady don – Sapna Didi and it is not even titled, Rani.
