It was in the year 1997, Deepa Sahi featured in the film ' Aar Ya Paar '. And now, she will be back on the silver screen again. In the forthcoming movie ' Manjhi The Mountain Man ', Deepa Sahi will be seen portraying the former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. For preparing for the role, the 49-year old Sahi watched some videos in order to understand the mannerisms and body language of Mrs. Gandhi.
The news update was confirmed by Deepa Sahi as she stated "Yes, I am playing Indira Gandhi, it' a cameo. I've always been fascinated by her and I am sure everyone would want to play her on screen."
Deepa desired to make a movie on the first woman Indian Prime Minister. Talking about it, she revealed "M J Akbar and I had once toyed with the idea to make a film on Mrs Gandhi. However, considering the legal issues in our country, I don't think the project will ever materialize. But given an opportunity, I'd love to make a full-length film on her and play the part myself."
' Manjhi The Mountain Man ' has its roots dipped in the true story of Dashrath Majhi, famously known as Mountain Man.
