Deepika Padukone is an epitome of elegance & grace in the Ghoomar song!

Here comes the magnificent ‘Ghoomar Song’ from the upcoming magnum opus Padmavati . The film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali finally is making news for the right reasons and is on track despite the obstacles and delays. The makers made the announcement of the Ghoomar song and all movie buffs have been glued to watch the celebrated dance number. Needless to say, Deepika stood tall and surpassed the expectations as she is supremely elegant and graceful while performing the traditional dance form.

A little bit about the dance form Ghoomar, it is a traditional dance of Rajasthan which is performed on happy occasions even today. The princess and queens also twirled and performed it during the ancient times. New brides are also known to perform Ghoomar during and after their weddings. It is a mark of celebration. Deepika and team have worked hard to perfect the steps and their moves to make it look this perfect!

Deepika said in an interview, “I started preparing for this film and character several months before we started filming. But it was for the Ghoomar song [sequence] that I walked onto the set as Padmavati for the first time.”

The song is sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Swaroop Khan. Lyrics are written by A M Turaz and Rajasthani lyrics are by Swaroop Khan. It is choreographed by Kruti Mahesh Midya and Ghoomar training by Jyothi D Tommaar.

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali , Padmavati stars Ranveer Singh as Khilji, Deepika Padukone as Queen Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as Raja Ratan Singh. It also stars Aditi Rao Hydari and Jim Sarbh . The film is produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Bhansali Productions, it is slated to release on 1st December 2017.
