Deepika Padukone might replace Shraddha Kapoor in Saina Nehwal biopic!
Reportedly, the film needs a bigger star and hence, Deepika Padukone is in consideration.

This is certainly not the best time for actress Shraddha Kapoor as she has been failing to deliver at the box office again and again. In 2017, the actress had three releases - Ok Jaanu , Half Girlfriend and Haseena Parkar . Besides Half Girlfriend , both her films tanked at the ticket window without a trace. After a dismal 2017, the actress was looking forward to Saina Nehwal biopic in 2018. However, if latest reports are to be believed, the film has hit the roadblock and even if it starts rolling again, Shraddha could be replaced by superstar Deepika Padukone .
According to reports, Shraddha was always the perfect choice for the biopic. She had even started prepping for her role in the movie. But the disappointing performance of her last film Haseena Parkar spoilt the whole game for her. Now, the makers want a bigger star to pull off the film at the box office. “It needs a heftier star-power. The producers are apparently trying to re-cast the project with Deepika Padukone in the lead. Her father was a badminton champ and she plays the game pretty well herself," a source reveals.
Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone , whose Padmavat releases on 25th January, is about to begin her next film with filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj . The untitled project also stars Irrfan Khan in the lead role.
