Post the runaway success of ‘ Bareilly Ki Barfi ’, Kriti Sanon has got her kitty full of movies. One such movie is ‘ Arjun Patiala ’, where she will share the screen for the first time opposite Punjabi superstar, Diljit Dosanjh . In the Punjabi film industry, Diljit is known for his mainstream comedy movies. But so far, he hasn’t got the chance to do a Hindi comedy film. But thanks to Dinesh Vijan , the ‘ Raabta ’ director, who has now roped in Diljit and Kriti in the slice-of-life comedy film, ‘ Arjun Patiala ’, where Kriti's character is of a journalist, while Diljit plays a small-town guy from Punjab. The story revolves around their love story. According to a leading daily, the movie, which is a light-hearted comedy, is about the height difference between the couple. The fact that the woman is taller than the man in the relationship will form the crux of the movie with the element of humour in it.
Dinesh Vijan , who has earlier produced films like ‘ Love Aaj Kal ’, ‘ Cocktail ’, ‘ Badlapur ’ and more recently Saket Chaudhary ’s ‘ Hindi Medium ’, confirmed the news, and said in a statement, “The Hindi film audience has already experienced Diljit’s intensity, now it’s time to laugh with him. Kriti is moving from Bareilly to Patiala to deliver another small-town surprise and this time she is holding a pen.”
Produced by Vijan, the film is being made under the banner of Maddock Films and will be exclusively shot in Punjab and will roll in February 2018.
