Director David Dhawan refutes rumours of remaking the blockbuster ‘Biwi No.1’!
Good that people are speculating about the remake of ‘Biwi No.1’ but we haven’t thought about it yet, says David Dhawan.

After the successful remake of ‘ Judwaa ’, audiences have been speculating that director David Dhawan is now remaking the 1999’s super-hit film, ‘ Biwi No.1 ’. As ‘ Judwaa 2 ’ starring Varun Dhawan , became a blockbuster, a few days ago, reports were rife in the B-town that daddy Dhawan is again collaborating with son Varun in another remake of a cult 90’s movie, ‘ Biwi No.1 ’. Though all these news were just speculations and rumours, David himself cleared the air and disclosed that he has not even given a thought to it. Speaking to a leading daily, David said, “Good that people are speculating about what we will do next. We haven’t thought about it yet. Right now we’re in the holiday mood. Let the New Year begin and then we’ll think of what to do next. I know it is a convenient formula to do remakes and sequels. But we may surprise everyone by doing an entirely original film this time.”
Speaking about his sons, his filmography and the 40 years long career, David further said, “I’ve directed 45 films in 41 years. And before we forget I was a film editor before a director for 7-8 years. I’ve nothing left to prove. Some critics say I haven’t changed my formula for 40 years. Why should I? When it’s working fine…I am proud of what I’ve achieved in 40 years. But I am even prouder of what my sons Rohit and Varun have achieved in just 4-5 years.”
