Director Nandita Das reveals about the release of Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Manto!

Actor turned director Nandita Das is coming up with an interesting biopic Manto which is a bit controversial in nature. A lot has been said and written about the upcoming film Manto which is based on the life of writer Saadat Hasan Manto. The film has a talented star cast of Nawazuddin Siddiqui , Shabana Azmi, Rasika Duggal among others. In a recent media interaction, Nandita opened up about the film and also spoke about its release date. She revealed that the film will be out mid-2018.

Talking about the film the director said, “If you ask as a director how happy you are after shooting the film, then it’s a tricky one. But I just know that it can’t get any worse. It can only get better when you are in post-production. All the mistakes you have done while shooting, now you can sort of try to make it better.”

Nandita also added about the film journey and release schedule, “It’s been an incredible journey. A lot of credible people have been a part of it. I think I am fortunate enough to work with a great cast and crew. Hopefully, by mid next year, it should be in theatres.”

She added about her working experience with the talented actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rasika Duggal , she said: “Both of them are wonderful. Honestly, both are very accomplished actors and wonderful human beings. When you spend so much time with actors, you also want to work with good people. So, I feel fortunate that they have fully dedicated themselves and they are real troopers.”
