Ekta Kapoor is confronting certain allegations nowadays pertaining to her upcoming horror-flick ' Ek Thi Daayan '. The National Commission for Women (NCW) summoned Ekta Kapoor and
Vishal Bhardwaj , the producers of the film, for portraying women aggressively in the film and promoting witchcraft.
A Wiccan priestess - Ipsita Roy Chakraverti filed the complaint for depicting women in regressive roles. A petition was also filed by Chakraverti by President Pranab Mukherjee for banning the film as it fuels witchcraft.
On this issue, Ekta prefers to take a neutral stand by mentioning that it's just impossible for her to justify each and everything in a movie. In a recent interview, Ekta told media that it's just not viable to give explanation for every minute detail in the film. It also cannot be said that a particular thing happens in movies or supernaturally, as she said.
Ekta also wonders about not taking any action in the story of the movie, when its shooting went on for two years and waking up of the people about these issues suddenly now.
Nevertheless, these on-going controversial matters fail to affect the promotion of ' Ek Thi Daayan '. The leading actors of the film, Emraan Hashmi , Huma Qureshi and
Konkona Sen Sharma are busy with its promotions. As Kalki Koechlin is currently shooting abroad, she will be a part of promotion on 9th and 10th of April, as Ekta informed the media.
Directed by Kannan Iyer , ' Ek Thi Daayan ' will rock the big screen from April 19.
