In the upcoming sequel of the super hit ' Rock On ', Farhan Akhtar is seen married with Prachi Desai and the story has moved forward to 7 years. Farhan Akhtar reportedly plays father of 7-year old son in ' Rock On!! 2 '. No romantic moments are there between Farhan and Shraddha Kapoor . A source said "In fact they don't even meet until interval point and that too, over music. Shraddha joins the original band members Farhan, Arjun Rampal , Purab Kohli as a new recruit. Farhan and Shraddha interact over music and nothing else. There are 10 songs in the film,"
The director Shujaat Saudagar stated "It' been 7 years...all characters are playing their age...hence all conflicts are internal and the battles lie within. The story continues from where we left off. But there are some new characters," The director further added that "Farhan and Shraddha's characters actually don't meet until a certain point in the story. When they do meet, it's because they are both musicians and its music which holds all the protagonists together. The essence of the plot is to bring out the dynamics of relationships that people share with each other through life..Human bonds that go beyond romance and love as we traditionally define them,"
