July 26 saw several films hitting the screens. One of them is ' Issaq ', directed by Manish Tiwary and featuring Prateik Babbar and Amyra Dastur . Apart from this, the other films like ' Bajatey Raho ' and ' Nasha ' were also the contenders of this Friday. The 3D Hollywood flick 'Wolverine' also locked horns with all of these Indian releases by achieving 40% occupancy.
Made with around Rs. 10 crore of budget, the romantic-thriller ' Issaq ' registered sheer 25% to 35% occupancy during its morning shows on the first day of its release. The movie received better response in posh multiplexes in metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bangaluru, etc. However, the film failed to catch audience's interest in single screens.
Before the release of the film, the promotion spree and the song 'Issaq Tera' from the movie seemed promising to get rocking business at the box-office. However, the reality was much far from the anticipations. The film attained mixed reviews and negative word-of-mouth publicity, resulting in diminishing numbers at the box-office.
' Issaq ' is also likely to face tough competition from the film ' Bhaag Milkha Bhaag ', a July 12 release, which is still reserving its place with standard numbers even in the 3rd week of its release.
