The most awaited film ' Aatma ' by
Suparn Verma starring Bipasha Basu and talented
Nawazuddin Siddiqui could not prove itself at the box office. The audience gave a cold response to the film and the drought of the box office collection continued this week as well. Apparently, last week's releases ' Mere Dad Ki Maruti ' and ' Jolly L.L.B. ' got more response than this week's fresh releases. ' Aatma ' was expected to dominate the box office collections, but conversely, the film got bad reviews and it managed to collect just 2-2.25cr on its first day.
On the other hand,
Rangrezz by Vashu Bhagnani was a big budget film and was marketed well by the filmmakers. It got good reviews from the critics as well but the film failed to perform well at the box office. The film was a remake of a Tamil script and is directed by ace director Priyadarshan , but a word of mouth also could not help the film to jump high. It got a disappointing result. The film collected just 1.25 -1.50 cr on its first day despite having Jackky Bhagnani 's good performance and a good story.
The third film which released yesterday was Makarand Deshpande 's
Sona Spa . The film which had a unique topic, absolutely failed to attract the audience. The audiences turned a cold shoulder to the film and it proved the disaster of epic. It just managed to collect hardly less than 20 lakhs on its first day.
