Govinda to be a part of 'Run for Safe Pune' campaign

Bollywood comedy-star Govinda will join hands with Pune Police by becoming a part of 'Run for Safe Pune' campaign to be held on Sunday.

After a long time, the comedy-king of Bollywood Govinda will be involving himself in a social cause. He will be a part of the 'Run for Safe Pune' campaign to be held on Sunday. The actor will join hands with the Pune Police by lending his support to the campaign, reportedly. Bollywood actress Mahima Chaudhry is also going to be a part of this noble cause.

'Run for Safe Pune' campaign, an initiative by Pune Police, will see Govinda flag off the race that will take place from the Police Ground on FC Road in Pune. Talking about this, Govinda revealed that 'Pune toh Punya nagari hai. Aur mujhe bahut pasand hai. It's a sacred place for me. And the work the Pune Police is doing to assure a safe city, is a great thing. I haven't been a part of a social event in a very long time and this is a great initiative," Apparently, Govinda turned producer and will be essaying a police officer in his forthcoming flick 'Abhinay Chakra'. The actor told that he will be taking some valuable tips from the police when he will come to Pune.

Additional Commissioner, (North region), Dr. Suresh Kumar Mekala said that "The race on Sunday, will be flagged off by actors Govinda and Mahima Chaudhry . We look forward to Pune participating in it." Dr. Mekala also added that this social cause began with inviting college and school students for the programme. He also informed about the seminar on women safety to be organized at Bal Gandharva on January 4.
