Gul Panag initiates anti-tobacco campaign

B-Town actress and the former Miss India, Gul Panag recently launched an anti-tobacco campaign to urge the youth to not to use tobacco and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Bollywood actress Gul Panag is the famous persona, when it comes to promotion of the social causes for the betterment of the society. This time, the former Miss India, Gul Panag will motivate the youth to combat against tobacco use and reportedly, she has even launched 'No More Tobacco In 21 Century', an anti-tobacco campaign.

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare held the International Conference on Public Health Priorities in the 21st Century: The Endgame for Tobacco, along with Health Related Information Dissemination Amongst Youth (HRIDAY) in New Delhi and Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI). Gul Panag launched this campaign on the first day of this international conference. Baijayant 'Jay' Panda, a Member of Parliament from Lok Sabha and another steady supporter of the tobacco control movement joined the actress in this noble initiative. Panag shared her views while unveiling the logo of this campaign by saying that this is a much-needed initiative, especially in a youth-driven country like India. She also said that the prime target of tobacco advertisers are the youth of the nation.

The actress revealed that an effective public countermeasure is the need of the hour to save the people from using tobacco. The involvement of the youth in this initiative is of key importance, just like it is significant in any social movement in the country, explained Panag.
