CBFC Chief Prasoon Joshi did not support Arjun Gupta’s anti-Bhansali rant and he completely respects the director as an individual.

Padmavati starring Deepika Padukone , Ranveer Singh , and Shahid Kapoor is nearing its official release. Fans and movie buffs are eagerly waiting to watch the magnum opus in 3D! Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s film, however, has faced a lot of hurdles and roadblocks while the making and also now as the release is announced. Arjun Gupta, a member also ranted against Bhansali which did not go down well with several people. But, Prasoon Joshi , CBFC Head, has come out in support of the director.
Prasoon Joshi said in a statement: “It’s unfortunate to see the personal point of view expressed by an advisory panel member of CBFC against Mr Sanjay Leela Bhansali. By no means does it represent the point of view of CBFC as an organization or the CBFC board. We have respect for Mr Bhansali as an individual and artist.”
A source from the Padmavati team said, “We are aware that this film will be watched closely and we are prepared for whatever decision the CBFC takes on the content of the film. On our part we are fully confident there is nothing objectionable in our film.”
Padmavati has been scheduled to release on December 1, 2017.
