Hindmata theatre re-opens after 20 years

The popular Hindmata theatre based in busy lanes of Dadar now re-opens as Gold Digital Cinema. 'Ek Villain' will be the first film to be screened at the new theatre.

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray will inaugurate the revamped Hindmata theatre, reportedly. The iconic Hindmata theatre is based in busy market area of Ambedkar Road in Dadar and it was closed in the year 1994. Now, almost after three decades, Hindmata theatre will be re-opened by the new name as Gold Digital Cinema with the show of Shraddha Kapoor , Siddharth Malhotra starrer ' Ek Villain '.

Gold Digital Cinema, the 240-seater single screen theatre will have an air-conditioned hall and is also having a mini food court, reportedly. No movie was screened at Hindmata after 1994 and Jeetendra 's hit film ' Himmatwala ' (1983) was the last one. The theatre still has its doorman Heeralal, who has observed the theatre's golden period and is still working as the doorman at the theatre.
