I will be more than happy to be a part of the making of the film, ‘Thackeray’, says Amitabh Bachchan!

Last night we saw the official launch of the film, ‘Thackeray’. The movie is based on the life and journey of Shiv Sena founder, the late Balasaheb Thackeray and Nawazuddin Siddiqui is roped in to play the larger than life role of the late politician. The event took place in Mumbai city and megastar Amitabh Bachchan was the chief guest of the show. Sharing his thoughts on Balasaheb, Amitabh said that he is ready to contribute in the making of the film in his best possible way, he said, “I am glad that you (writer of the film Sanjay Raut) have taken the step to make a film on Bala Saab. I wish you all the luck for the successful making of the film. If you need anything, any contribution from my end in whichever capacity, please allow me to know about it. I will be more than happy to be a part of the making of the film."

The megastar also suggested to the entire team that they should also make a web-series on the late politician so that the youths would get to know more about him. Bachchan said, “I want to request you not to limit the larger than life personality like him into a three-hour movie. I think in today's time when we watch so many web series; we can make a series on Balasaheb Thackeray to capture different phases of his life and personality. It will be really interesting for the generation to know a man like him.”

Helmed by Abhijit Panse, the film is being written by Sanjay Raut and will hit the theatres on the 93rd birth anniversary of Balasaheb Thackeray i.e. 23rd January 2019.
