Impromptu fund-raiser appeal by Akshay Kumar! Corporate pledge to donate & help the cause!

Akshay Kumar is indeed one of the bankable super-star Bollywood has and his films can easily earn pass 100 crore! Needless to say, Akshay Kumar made a brand name for himself, which he also utilizes for brand promotions but also like to use for some good causes. It has been quite a while since Akshay Kumar is promoting the cause to raise funds for the families of the Indian martyrs and he even took this cause while promoting his own film on The Kapil Sharma Show. And it seems all the efforts have paid off well.

In the month of April, after receiving an acknowledgment from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Akshay also launched Bharat Ke Veer website and app which offers a much convenient interface for the normal consumer to donate funds to the cause! And when Akshay was invited to a global investor conference, India Rising, Akshay decided to give an impromptu speech to the businessmen and CEOs present, informing them about this website, a web portal where anyone can make direct donations for the martyrs' families. And result to that, the kind and compassionate appeal by Akshay Kumar managed to pledge 6.5 crores, which is huge for the cause.

Speaking about the cause, Akshay Kumar said, “I just felt like talking about the bharatkeveer initiative because the entire audience comprised high profiled individuals with influence and resources. If they won’t come forward for the cause of our armed forces, who will?” and at the event, he also mentioned “These martyrs belong to various states of India. I said if each corporate or CEO pledged to adopt martyrs of at least one state, we could raise enough funds to remove as many soldiers’ details from the side as possible. I started with volunteering to donate for all martyrs from Maharashtra!”

And fortunately, Akshay isn’t the only Bollywood knight pledged to donate, but the esteemed corporate member has also initiated for the cause! According to a report by HindustanTimes, Motilal Oswal, despite being host for the event, pledged to donate for all soldiers of Jammu and Kashmir presently listed, Vicky Oberoi chose Andhra Pradesh, industrialist Puneet Dalmia offered support for martyrs from Assam, Orissa, and Tamil Nadu, businessman Sameer Gehlaut chose Haryana, while film producer Prerna Arora from Kriarj Entertainment chose Himachal Pradesh to make sure the cause will be answered. Even the makers of Kwality Milk pledged to donate for all soldiers from Rajasthan, while L&T announced a donation of 50 lakhs in the corpus of the website.
