The talented actor Irrfan Khan is known for his impeccable performance in his films and now, the actor will have one more feather in his hat! Going by the fresh news update, the Indian actors Irrfan Khan and Tillotama Shome bagged the Best Actor Award for their Punjabi movie 'Qissa' at recently held International Film Festival of Queensland in Australia.
Geneva-based Anup Singh won the Best Director award for the same flick. The award function concluded on July 2. The director Singh posted on his Facebook page, " Irrfan Khan is with me in Geneva at the moment. We're celebrating and look forward to celebrating with the 'Qissa' team soon," The movie 'Qissa' narrated a story of a girl, who was raised as a boy. The flick also won the Best Cinematography award for Sebastian Edschmid.
'Qissa' was also premiered at various film festivals including Toronto International Film Festival, Curacao International Film Festival, Abu Dhabi Internationa Film Festival, Mumbai Film Festival and International Film Festival Rotterdam, reportedly. This Punjabi flick is now scheduled to be screened at the Munich International Film Festival to be held in Germany and will hit the screens in Germany on July 10. The select theatres will showcase the film in dubbed version as well as the original version will be released with English subtitles. 'Qissa' is expected to release in India in September, as per the report.
