Since last 3 years, Kajol has been part of 'Help a Child Reach 5' hand-washing programme by the health soap Lifebuoy. Kajol unleashed a short film on significance of hand-washing made by Anand Gandhi . Gandhi is known for his masterpiece ' Ship Of Theseus '.

Talking about this, Kajol said "The initiative is started by Lifebuoy to help people understand about change and how important it is to wash your hands with soap and water after you go to the loo and before eating food," She added that "It talks about the difference it makes to your life, especially for kids in their first month or first 28 days of their life where 50% of the children lose their life in our country because of the fact that they have not had proper hygienic care,"

This film will highlight a journey of a pregnant woman and her aspirations for her baby. This emotional tale focuses on doing something crucial and simple during pregnancy and in child's early years, that is to wash the hands with soap. This event was attended by Hindustan Unilever's Executive Director Samir Singh and around 100 pregnant women. Singh stated "We are excited to release this film and take the hygienic message to where it matters the most; to new mothers in the first 28 days after delivery. The 'Help a Child Reach 5' campaign started in Thesgora, a village in Madhya Pradesh that has one of the highest rates of diarrhea and showcased remarkable results. We now impact child health at a very large scale in partnership with the CIFF,"
