The 1983's classic drama ' Sadma ' starring Kamal Haasan and Sridevi will soon get its remake, reportedly. Balu Mahendra 's directorial ' Sadma ' will be remade by the ad filmmaker Llyod Baptista. Sridevi essayed a young lady who regresses to childhood post a head injury. She lands up in a brothel from where she is rescued by a school teacher portrayed by Kamal Haasan , who falls in love with Sridevi .
The filmmaker Llyod said "Yes I am remaking 'Sadma'. It's a beautiful film, I had seen it as a young boy and the last scene was always stuck in my mind. I feel the current generation who doesn't believe in love needs to see films like 'Sadma''. 'Sadma' is the remake of a Tamil movie 'Moondram Pirai'.
The casting director Mukesh Chhabra will soon decide the names to play the lead roles on this remake. The filmmaker Llyod said "We are in brief talks with some A-list actors because it's going to be hard to replace Kamal Haasan and Sridevi ." He added that "We have few new approaches to the film but we are not locking anything yet. I am very careful not to destroy the essence of the original film and also not to make the film boring as most of us have already seen the old 'Sadma' at some point. There is a lot of expectation from a lot of people who respect 'Sadma',"
