Karan Johar is undoubtedly one of the biggest filmmakers of India who has given multiple blockbusters in the last two and half decade. His films like My Name Is Khan , Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham , not only impressed the masses but were also critically acclaimed. After producing and directing some mega-hits, the 45-year-old filmmaker did his acting debut in Anurag Kashyap ’s Bombay Velvet (2015) but it failed miserably at the box office. After a gap of 3 years, he again tried his hands in acting with Chakri Toleti ’s Welcome To New York but it also tanked at the box office, after which, Johar decided to quit acting and stick to what he does the best, i.e. filmmaking.

Talking with a leading daily, a close source to the actor said, “Karan has been a reluctant actor but did Welcome to New York because of his relationship with the IIFA organizers. But now he has decided not to come back to films in any role again as he feels he should not dilute his brand value.”

Well, if not any film as an actor then Karan has many upcoming movies which he is producing. His upcoming filmography includes Drive , Raazi , Kesari and Brahmastra .
