After getting a great response from the first anthology series, Bombay Talkies , filmmakers Karan Johar , Dibakar Banerjee , Zoya Akhtar and Anurag Kashyap are coming back with yet anthology film. All the 4 directors have finished shooting their films and waiting for the release. Initially, it was reported that the film is a sequel to Bombay Talkies but it’s not. Bombay Talkies was a tribute to Indian cinema as it completed 100 years in 2013 but this series will be completely different which will deal with love, lust and relationships. The movie has been produced under Ronnie Screwvala ’s banner RSVP, with producer Ashi Dua and it will be released on global video streaming giant, Netflix, in the month of June.
“Lust Stories, four short films that deal with real-life relationships in modern India and brought together as one film brilliantly under a common theme by Anurag, Dibakar, Karan and Zoya is a perfect premiere for global audiences on Netflix,” Ronnie has said in a statement.
It was announced long ago that this supposed sequel to Bombay Talkies will explore the themes of ‘love and lust’. Lust Stories, which is no longer being promoted as the above-mentioned sequel, features four short films, each directed by one of the talented directors and stars a set of talented actors. It is being reported that Karan’s film will star Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani and Neha Dhupia, while Anurag’s film features Radhika Apte and Aakash Thosar of Sairat fame. Manisha Koirala and Sanjay Kapoor have shot for Dibakar’s film. And Zoya’s film features Bhumi Pednekar, Neil Bhoopalam and Rasika Duggal.
