Kareena Kapoor to play Maharashtrian girl in 'Singham 2'

The diva Kareena Kapoor will be essaying a typical Maharashtrian girl in Rohit Shetty's next 'Singham 2'. Ajay Devgn will play the male lead.

Be it an innocent and confused girl in ' Jab We Met ', a mysterious woman in ' Talaash ' or an aspiring actress in ' Heroine ', she has always played her roles with an utmost perfection and bagged praises. As the recent news updates revealed, Kareena Kapoor will next be starring in the next installment of 2011 super hit ' Singham '.

The fresh news updates stated that Kareena will be playing a middle-class Maharastrian girl in ' Singham Returns '. The action-star Ajay Devgn will reprise his cop-role from the original in the sequel. Kareena's role in this flick would require the actress to dress like a Maharashtrian girl as well as talk like a typical Maharashtrian mulgi in fluent Marathi.

A close source revealed that "The character of Devgn's love-interest in the first ' Singham ' film was sketchy. She was loud but at the fringes of the plot. In ' Singham Returns ', the female protagonist is pivotal to the plot. Rohit Shetty re-wrote the role after Kareena agreed to do it," Talking about Kareena playing a Maharashtrian person, the source further added that "Kareena knows a smattering of Marathi but for the part in ' Singham Returns ', she will practice Marathi with her Maharashtrian friends," Kareena Kapoor is likely to start shooting for ' Singham Returns ' in the coming month of March.
