If you thought Anurag Kashyap’s Dev D was the boldest take on Devdas, then you haven’t seen the trailer of Dev DD web series!
Dev DD is the upcoming web series directed by Ken Ghosh . It is probably the fifth version of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel Devdas. This time it’s from the female’s perspective, where Aasheema Vardhan is the lead, Devaki. While, Akhil Kapur’s role is similar to Paro in the classic tale and Sanjay Suri will be seen having Chandramukhi’s traits.
This webseries revolves entirely around drugs, booze and sex. Plotted in Jaipur’s small town, Dev DD is produced by Ekta Kapoor ’s ATL Balaji productions. It is said that Ekta wanted to actually make a television serial on Devdas, but due to restrictions she finally decided to turn this venture into a boldest web series.
Dev DD will be streaming on ALT Balaji Original from April 16 on wards.
