The list of films in contention for the best picture Oscar was unveiled by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Indian films like M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story and Sarbjit grabbed a place in the long list of 336 feature films eligible for the Oscars.
The movie must have played in Los Angeles County-based commercial theatre for at least 7 consecutive days between January 1 to December 31. Apart from Dhoni's biopic and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Sarbjit , Mira Nair's directorial Queen Of Katwe also bagged a position in this list.
The award season favourites who are part of this list include La La Land, Arrival, Silence, Moonlight, Manchester by the Sea, Hacksaw Ridge. Superhero outings such as Suicide Squad, Captain America: Civil War, Deadpool, X-Men: Apocalypse also made it to this list.
