It seems good news for those who believe in acclaimed Bollywood filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar as he is showing all good signs to be back at his Mojo. Though currently being busy with the release of emergency era political drama film, Indu Sarkar, and other projects. Madhur Bhandarkar's short film titled, Mumbai Mist, starring Annu Kapoor , Master Devrath, Parvin Dabas, is about a beautiful bond between an old man and an orphan ragpicker kid develop with their unusual but hearty interaction. This short film will be presented at BRICS Film Festival in China on 22nd June while representing India.
Madhur Bhandarkar is always known as a filmmaker who makes realistic, strong comments on usually a particular element of the society or industry. But it is also good to see him making a fictional film with a positive approach. Plausibly, Chinese director Jia Zhangke, put together a team of 5 film makers, including Madhur Bhandarkar , to make a 18-minute short film on the theme “Where Has The Time Gone?” the other filmmakers include, Brazilian Walter Salles, Russian storyteller Aleksey Fedorchenko and South African filmmaker Jahmil XT Qubeka.
The story and screenplay are written by Sanjay Chhel and Priyanka Ghatak and music will be given by Amar Mohile, including a classic Bollywood song Awara Hoon in the background. Though there are not any dates when and where Mumbai Mist will be showcased for the Indian audience but we are sure Madhur Bhandarkar would be eager to share his work with us.
