Makers of Saif Ali Khan’s web-series ‘Sacred Games’ planning to roll out 4 seasons of the series?

Netflix India’s first original ‘Sacred Games’ by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane starring Saif Ali Khan might have four seasons.

With back to back films releasing this year, Saif Ali Khan is busy with his upcoming web series ‘Sacred Games’. ‘Sacred Games’ is based on Vikram Chandra’s best-selling novel of the same name. A few days back it was revealed that Saif is doing Netflix India’s first original and by doing this he became the first major Indian actor to do a web series. Though it’s a first Netflix India’s original, there’s news that the show will have four seasons.

Saif will be seen playing the role of Sartaj Singh. The show will showcase the complex web of corruption, politics, organized crime that lie beneath India’s economic renaissance. As per a source, the series might have four seasons to it”. The source further revealed, “The series is based on the novel. But the plot has been developed to suit the visual medium. The makers are now looking at locking in four seasons.” “It will take time to establish these new characters as well as sub-plots. They will be explored over the course of the seasons.” adds the source.

The project will be produced by Phantom Films and helmed by two of its stakeholders - Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane . The two filmmakers have united their creative energies to come up with eight episodes in the first season. The show will also star Radhika Apte and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead roles.
